On Thursday 26 November 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Earlier, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister, The Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Russian Federation, Mr Peter Tesch.
At Government House, the Governor-General as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a presentation ceremony for the Menzies Foundation, at which the Governor-General presented scholarship awards.

In the evening, at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr Obaid Al Ketbi, attended the United Arab Emirates National Day reception.
