Adaminaby Races; Departure of the President of New Caledonia

On Saturday 22 November 2014, in Adaminaby, New South Wales, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Adaminaby Jockey Club, Mr Lynley Myers, attended the 150th running of the Adaminaby Races.

Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of New Caledonia, the Honourable Cynthia Ligeard, by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

150th Adaminaby Races

At the Adaminaby Race Course, NSW, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Adaminaby Jockey Club, Mr Lynley Miners, attended the 150th Adaminaby Races, which were officially opened by the Governor-General.

On Friday 21 November 2014, at Kapooka, Wagga Wagga, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a march-out parade at which the Governor-General presented the Governor-General’s banner to the 1st Recruit Training Battalion.

In the evening, at the Embassy of the Italian Republic, Deakin, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General attended the ANU Friends of the School of Music's Young Performers concert.

Morning tea for ANZAC Centenary Arts and Culture Fund; Royal Australian Regiment Foundation annual dinner

On Thursday 20 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for the ANZAC Centenary Arts and Culture Fund.

Afterwards, at the Canberra Institute of Technology, the Governor-General, as Patron, and guest of the Chairman, Major General Mark Kelly AO DSC (Retd), attended the Royal Australian Regiment Foundation annual dinner.

Departure from Australia of the President of the French Republic; Departure from Australia of the President of the People's Republic of China; Departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Madagascar

On Wednesday 19 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received a farewell call from the High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Mrs Salome T. Sijaona, and Minister-Counsellor of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr John Kambona.

Earlier, at Canberra Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Canberra of the President of the French Republic, Mr François Hollande, by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

Wreathlaying ceremony with the Prime Minister of India; Ceremonial Welcome and State Lunch for the President of the French Republic

On Tuesday 18 November 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), attended a wreathlaying ceremony with the Prime Minister of India, the Honourable Narendra Modi, and the Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Afterwards, at Fleet Steps, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a Ceremonial Welcome for the President of the French Republic, Mr François Hollande.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the President of the French Republic.
