Credentials ceremonies

On Thursday 27 February 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Mr Martin Pohl, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Miroslav Píša (Deputy Head of Mission), Mr Hani Stolina (Head of Sydney Consulate) and Mrs Šárka Ponroy Vamberová (Commercial Counsellor). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Karolína Pohlová.

Federal Executive Council; Order of Australia Council afternoon tea; Reception for attendees of the National Librarians of Asia and Oceania meeting

On Wednesday 26 February 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chancellor, attended an afternoon tea with members of the Order of Australia Council.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a reception for attendees of the National Librarians of Asia and Oceania conference.

Farewell morning tea; Presentation of awards to members of the Royal Australian Medical Corps; Farewell Agency and Department Heads reception

On Tuesday 25 February 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a farewell morning tea for Defence, Service and Veterans organisations, at which the Governor-General launched the book ‘Stoker’s Submarine’ by Ms Elizabeth Brenchley.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Colonel-in Chief of the Royal Australian Medical Corps, presented awards to Captain Kelly Dunne, Warrant Officer Class Two Scott Sandell and Private Billinda Sherwood.

Farewell afternoon tea; caller

On Monday 24 February 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a farewell community afternoon tea.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received former judge of the Queensland Court of Appeal, the Honourable Justice Margaret White AO.
