On Friday 13 December 2013, at Government House Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the founder of the Love Your Sister charity, Mr Samuel Johnson and his sister, Ms Connie Johnson.

Afterwards the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mr John Williams.

Later the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the United Mexican States, Her Excellency Mrs Beatriz Lopez Gargallo.

Federal Executive Council; Australian Defence Force Academy Graduation Parade; Callers

On Thursday 12 December 2013, at Government House Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, reviewed the parade and presented the Commander-in-Chief’s Medal to Midshipman Nam Nguyen.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner-designate to the Solomon Islands, Mr Andrew Byrne.

30th anniversary of the National Association of the Visual Arts; Callers

On Wednesday 11 December 2013, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of Board Members Ms Joyce Parszos and Ms Alexie Glass-Kantor, attended a reception for the 30th anniversary of the National Association of the Visual Arts.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Ms Jacqueline Nomhle Zwambila.

Graduation Parade for full time General Service Officer Graduands at the Royal Military College; Condolences on the passing of the late Mr Nelson Mandela AC; Launch of the New Colombo Plan

On Tuesday 10 December 2013, at the Royal Military College Duntroon, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Graduation Parade for full time General Service Officer Graduands, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, reviewed the Parade and presented the Sword of Honour and the Queen’s Medal.

Australian Command and Staff College Graduation; Credentials; Reception for Australian Defence Force Academy Graduands, Royal Military College Cadets and the Spitfire Association

On Monday 9 December 2013, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Australian Command and Staff College Graduation Ceremony, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, addressed the audience and presented the Governor-General’s prize.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Andris Teikmanis, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Inguna Penike.

Reception for Australian Defence Force Academy Graduands, Royal Military College Cadets and the Spitfire Association

At Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Mr Bryce, hosted a reception for Australian Defence Force Academy and Royal Military College Graduands and the Spitfire Association, at which the Governor-General presented the 2014 Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship.

Visit to Canberra Hospital; Visit to Lifeline Bookfair Warehouse

On Thursday 5 December 2013, at the Canberra Hospital, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of Geriatrician, Dr Ramila Varendran, visited the acute care for the elderly unit and met with staff, patients and volunteers.

Afterwards, at the Lifeline Bookfair Warehouse, Mitchell, the Governor-General, in recognition of International Volunteer Day, met with Lifeline volunteers.

Later, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner designate to Malaysia, Mr Rod Smith PSM.
