Melbourne Visit

On Wednesday 27 November 2013, at the Lyceum Club, Melbourne, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as an Honorary Life Member and guest of the President, Dr Barbara Inglis, attended a morning tea with current and past committee members.

Afterwards, at the Langham Hotel, the Governor-General received the Chair of Indigenous Eye Health Unit from the University of Melbourne, Professor Hugh Taylor AC and Associate Professor Elizabeth Dax.

Melbourne Visit

On Tuesday 26 November 2013, at Drummond Street Services, Carlton, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Patron, launched a Beyondblue family resource to support families of gay, lesbian, bi, trans and gender diverse people.

Afterwards, at the Brotherhood of St Lawrence Coolibah Centre, Fitzroy, the Governor-General, as guest of the Executive Director, Mr Tony Nicholson, and Coolibah Centre Manager, Ms Marica Cendric, attended lunch with staff and members.

Geelong visit

On Monday 25 November 2013, at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Jane den Hollander, visited the Carbon Nexus facility and met with researchers and staff.

Afterwards, at the Geelong Lodge, Belmont, the Governor-General, as guest of the Manager, Ms Joanne Tomada, attended a morning tea with staff and residents.

Geelong Visit

At Deakin University, Waurn Ponds, the Governor-General, as guest of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Jane den Hollander, visited the Carbon Nexus facility and met with researchers and staff.

Later, at the Salvo Connect Women’s Service, Geelong, the Governor-General, in recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and as guest of the Divisional Leader, Major Debra Stevens, and Network Director, Ms Lorrinda Hamilton, met with staff and clients of Salvo Connect.

Geelong Visit

At Geelong Town Hall, the Governor-General, as guest of the Acting Chair, Councillor Jan Farrell, met with members of the Women in Community Life Advisory Committee.

Afterwards, at Moolap, the Governor-General, as guest of the Director, Ms Carolyn Probert, visited Australian New Energy’s renewable energy plant.

Then, at the National Wool Museum, Geelong, the Governor-General attended a community reception hosted in her honour by Councillor Michelle Heagney and Manager, Department of Arts and Culture, Ms Kaz Paton.

Choral Eucharist service

On Sunday 24 November 2013, at St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral, the Very Reverend Dr Andreas Loewe, attended the Choral Eucharist service.

Afterwards, at the Langham, the Governor-General received Mr Phil Endersbee, Mrs Jane Endersbee, Archbishop Philip Freier and Mrs Joy Freier for lunch.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education forum; Boyer Lecture

On Friday 22 November 2013, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education forum.

In the evening, at ABC Studios, Ultimo, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chair, the Honourable James Spigelman AC QC, and the Managing Director, Mr Mark Scott AO, attended a reception at which the Governor-General delivered the final lecture in the 2013 Boyer Lecture series ‘Back to Grassroots’.
