Federal Executive Council; Call from the Prime Minister; Parliamentary reception

On Tuesday 25 March 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP, Her Majesty The Queen was pleased to approve the award of Dame of the Order of Australia to the Governor-General.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chief Minister of the ACT, Ms Katy Gallagher MLA.

On Tuesday 18 March 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received a call from the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr Ma Zhaoxu, and Mrs Yu Xiaoming.

On Monday 17 March 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from Her Excellency Ms Zanele Mdluli, Letters of Commission accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Swaziland.

Afterwards, at Bridges House, Duntroon, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended an afternoon tea hosted in their honour by the Chief of the Defence Force, General David Hurley AC DSC.

The Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for Members of the House of Representatives, at which the Governor-General received the Address-in-Reply from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Honourable Bronwyn Bishop MP.
