Launch of ‘Eilean Giblin: A Feminist Between the Wars’

On Monday 15 July 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received Australian writer, Ms Brenda Stevens-Chambers, and was presented with a copy of the book, ‘Honkie and Ginny.’

Afterwards, at the National Library of Australia, the Governor-General, as guest of the Director-General, Ms Anne-Marie Schwirtlich, officially launched Dr Patricia Clarke’s book, ‘Eilean Giblin: A Feminist Between the Wars.’

On Wednesday 10 July 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received the Ambassador-designate and Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Mr Hamish McCormick.

Afterwards, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, received from L’Arche Genesaret the Board President, Ms Tarlie Alcock; House Coordinator, Ms Anne Mullins; House resident, Ms Kerry Lucre; and Photographer, Ms Annie Duke.

Ceremonial Welcome and State Lunch for the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

On Tuesday 9 July 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the Australian Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Mr Miles Armitage.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Mr Taur Matan Ruak and Her Excellency Mrs Isabel da Costa Ferreira.

Harvard University Krokodiloes

On Sunday 7 July 2013, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the Chair of Sydney University Football Club, Mr Phil Harry AM and Mrs Meryl Harry, and the former English National Rugby Union Captain, Mr Derek ‘Budge’ Rogers OBE.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a musical afternoon to mark the visit to Australia by the Harvard University Krokodiloes.
