On Wednesday 29 May 2013, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO departed Australia to lead the 7th European Australian Business Council Mission to Europe.

As a result of the Governor-General’s departure, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Afterwards, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator hosted a visit by School Captains and Vice-Captains from 32 government secondary schools.

On Tuesday 28 May 2013, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received a farewell call from the High Commissioner for the Republic of Malta, His Excellency Mr Francis Tabone.

On Monday 27 May 2013, at Brisbane International Airport, Brisbane, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido MP, by Air Commodore Tim Innes, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Sunday 26 May 2013, at Brisbane International Airport, Brisbane, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido MP, by Brigadier Greg Bilton CSC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Friday 24 May 2013, at St Bede’s Primary School, Red Hill, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Principal, Mr Doug Hodgson, participated in National Walk Safely to School Day, then met with staff and students in recognition of the school’s 50th anniversary.

The Governor-General participated in National Walk Safely to School Day at St Bede’s Primary School in Red Hill, Canberra, as the guest of the Principal, Mr Doug Hodgson.

Later, Ms Bryce met with staff and students in recognition of the school’s 50th anniversary.

On Thursday 23 May 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Taeyong Cho.

Afterwards, at the Gallery of Australian Design (GAD), Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of the GAD, attended an award presentation for ‘The Lodge on the Lake’ Design Competition.

On Wednesday 22 May 2013, at Customs House, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Board Member for the Australian Library and Information Association, Dr Edmund Balnaves, participated as a guest reader in National Simultaneous Storytime, reading ‘The Wrong Book’ by Nick Bland.

On Tuesday 21 May 2013, at The Rocks, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the CEO of Cricket Australia, Mr James Sutherland, attended a lunch in support of women’s cricket.
