Day Three of the Sydney Test Match

On Saturday 5 January 2013, at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair of Cricket Australia, Mr Wally Edwards and the Chair of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust, Mr Rodney Cavalier AO, attended Day Three of the Sydney Test Match between Australia and Sri Lanka.

On Thursday 3 January 2013, at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair of Cricket Australia, Mr Wally Edwards and the Chair of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust, Mr Rodney Cavalier AO, attended Day One of the Sydney Test Match between Australia and Sri Lanka.

Visit to the Matthew Talbot Men’s Hostel; Opening of the Nelune Centre; Visit Ronald McDonald House Randwick; Attend the Women’s Cricket Rose Bowl Series

On Wednesday 19 December 2012, at the Matthew Talbot Men’s Hostel, Woolloomooloo, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of resident Mr Kevern Fiorenza and the President of the NSW St Vincent de Paul Society Council, Mr Ray Reynolds, met with clients, volunteers and staff.

Governor-General visits Matthew Talbot Men's Hostel

The Governor-General visited the Matthew Talbot Men's Hostel in Woolloomooloo after receiving an invitation from resident Kevern, who previously met Ms Bryce at a UN Anti-Poverty Week event.

President of the NSW St Vincent de Paul Society, Mr Ray Reynolds, Operations Manager of Men's Services, Mr Brett Macklin, and Kevern escorted the Governor-General through the accommodation and OZANAM Learning Centre and introduced her to residents and staff members.

The Hostel provides assistance to more than 35,600 homeless men every year.

Governor-General officially opens the Nelune Centre

As Patron of the Nelune Foundation, the Governor-General officially opened the Nelune Centre during a visit to the Kinghorn Cancer Centre in Darlinghurst.

Ms Bryce viewed the Centre's research laboratory and met staff members with Co-Founders of the Foundation, Ms Nelune Rajapakse OAM and Ms Anna Guillan. The Governor-General also met patients undergoing treatment in the Kinghorn Cancer Centre atrium.
