On Sunday 2 September 2012, at the Four Seasons Hotel, Amman, Jordan, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO met with members of the Jordan National Commission for Women.

Afterwards, at Al Hummar Palace, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a Ceremonial Welcome hosted in their honour by the Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with King Abdullah II and Queen Rania.

On the second day of a State Visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Governor-General joined prominent leaders from the Jordanian community for a roundtable discussion on women, peace and security at the Four Seasons Hotel, Amman.

The Governor-General listened to women and children refugees’ stories of survival after fleeing violence in Syria during a visit to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Za’atri refugee camp in northern Jordan.

Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce were met by the Head of UNHCR Jordan, Mr Andrew Harper, and escorted to a Registration Office for a briefing on the camp.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce were formally welcomed to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan by Their Majesties King Abdullah II Al-Hussein and Queen Rania during a ceremony at Al-Hummar Palace, Amman.

Ms Bryce was invited by King Abdullah II to inspect the Royal Guard of Honour before joining Mr Bryce and Queen Rania for a formal audience with Their Majesties.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a State Dinner hosted by Their Majesties at Basman Palace.

On Saturday 1 September 2012, at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a Welcome Ceremony to mark the commencement of their State Visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce, at the invitation of Their Majesties King Abdullah II Al-Hussein and Queen Rania, began a State Visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce were welcomed by the Minister in Attendance at Queen Alia International Airport and were escorted along a military Guard of Honour.

The Governor-General and Mr Bryce were introduced to Jordanian officials and representatives from the Australian Embassy before departing the airport.

On Friday 31 August 2012, at the Copper Box, London, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Acting President of the Australian Paralympic Committee, Mr Nick Dean and Australian Paralympic Committee Board Member, Mrs Joyce Parszos, attended the Women’s Goalball.

Afterwards, at the Excel Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Australian Paralympic Committee Board Member, Mr John Croll and Mrs Susie Croll, attended the Women’s Table Tennis.

On Day 2 of the London Paralympics, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce supported Australia’s elite athletes competing in five events across the city.

The Governor-General and Mr Bryce watched the Australian Goalball team compete against Japan at the Copper Box before watching Table Tennis player Melissa Tapper compete against Chinese opponent Lei Fan.

On Thursday 30 August 2012, at Government House, Canberra the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Administrator received the Vice-President and Founder of the Wattle Day Association, Mr Jack Fahy, and the Treasurer of the Wattle Day Association, Ms Judy Tunningley, and later accepted a basket of wattle from students of Burgmann Anglican School in recognition of Wattle Day.

At Government House, the Administrator, Professor Marie Bashir, AC CVO, received a basket of wattle from students at Canberra's Burgmann Anglican Junior School to mark Wattle Day on September the 1st.
