27th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine; Legacy Widows; World Harmony Running Team; ???Thanks?? Exhibition

On Monday 22 November 2010, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC opened the 27th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received from the Eastern States Aboriginal Languages Group, Ms Faith Baisden, Mr Kevin Lowe, Mr Daryn McKenny, Mr Geoff Anderson, Mr Paul Paton, Mr Bruce Pascoe, Ms Bridget Priman, and Ms Melinda Holden.

Visit to Ilfracombe

On Sunday 21 November 2010, at Ilfracombe, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited the Ilfracombe Museum; the site of the Ilfracombe wool scour; and hosted a community morning tea at the Wellshot Hotel.

QANTAS 90th Birthday dinner

On Saturday 20 November 2010, at the QANTAS Founders Museum, Longreach, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Chancellor of the Order Australia, invested Captain Warwick Tainton OAM with the Medal of the Order of Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a dinner to celebrate the 90th Birthday of QANTAS, at which the Governor-General, as Patron of the QANTAS Founders Museum, delivered an address and unveiled a replica of the de Havilland DH 50.

High Commissioner for the Solomon Islands

On Friday 19 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, received the High Commissioner for the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Mr Beraki Jino.

Earlier, at Darwin International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, His Excellency Dr Jose Ramos-Horta, by Brigadier Fergus McLachlan AM, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Thursday 18 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Colonel-in-Chief, received the Head of Corps of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps and Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force, Major General Paul Alexander; Honorary Colonel of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, Colonel John Taske; and the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, Warrant Officer Class One Angel de Santa-ana.

Investiture ceremony for The Priory in Australia of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem; Reception at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China

On Wednesday 17 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Prior, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted an investiture ceremony for The Priory in Australia of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.

Australian Defence Force Memorial Plantation Dedication; Fostering Executive Women Gala Dinner

On Monday 15 November 2010, at Campbelltown, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the dedication of the Australian Defence Force Memorial Plantation.

In the evening, at the Hilton Hotel, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Patron of Fostering Executive Women, Ms Ann Garms OAM, attended the Fostering Executive Women Gala Dinner, at which the Governor-General presented scholarship awards.

Australian Girls' Choir Concert

On Sunday 14 November 2010, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC hosted an afternoon tea for the Hall’s Creek members of the Australian Girls’ Choir.

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for volunteers and supporters of the Mary MacKillop Canonisation.

In the evening, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chair of the Australian School of Performing Arts Advisory Board, Mr Nigel Milan AM, attended the Australian Girls’ Choir Concert.

On Friday 12 November 2010, at the National Arboretum, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chief Minister of the ACT Legislative Assembly, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA, attended a ceremonial tree planting, at which the Governor-General planted a Lone Pine with members of the Returned and Services League.
