In the afternoon, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the Lord Prior of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, Professor Anthony Mellows and Mrs Elizabeth Mellows, and Chancellor of the Priory in Australia, Dr Neil Conn AO.
On Saturday 28 February 2009, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Malta, His Excellency Dr Edward Fenech Adami, by Commander Geoffrey Fiedler ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-camp.
In the evening, at Canberra Stadium, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of Brumbies Rugby, attended the ACT Brumbies versus Western Force rugby match.

On Thursday 26 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Dato Salman bin Ahmad, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for Malaysia.
