In the evening, at Parliament House, Perth, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Premier of Western Australia, The Honourable Alan Carpenter MLA and Mrs Annmarie Carpenter, attended a civic reception hosted in their honour.

On Saturday 28 June 2008, at The Cloisters, Perth, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the blessing of the Bishop Hale statue by the Archbishop of Perth, the Most Reverend Roger Herft.

On Friday 27 June 2008, at Government House, Perth, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Executive Officer of The School Volunteer Program, Mrs Christine Gray and the Honorary Vice Chair of the School Volunteer Program Board, Ms Suzanne Ardagh.

On Thursday 26 June 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Wednesday 25 June 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received from His Excellency Dr Jean Daniel, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Maher Kheir (First Secretary), Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon. The Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery also received Mrs Mireille Sayegh.

On Tuesday 24 June 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Monday 23 June 2008, the Director of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (Tasmania), Mr R. William Turner and Mrs Karin Turner arrived at Government House, Canberra, and remained overnight as houseguests of Their Excellencies, the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery.

On Sunday 22 June 2008, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a luncheon for members of the clergy of St Paul's Anglican Church, Manuka.

On Saturday 21 June 2008, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC was represented at the departure from Canberra of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency Mr Anote Tong by Mr Malcolm Hazell CVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
