On Thursday 5 June 2008, at Government House, Hobart, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Senior Patron of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia, presented Miss Melissa Maree Quilliam with the 2007 Clarke Medal and Rupert Wilks Trophy.

In the evening, at Parliament House, Hobart, Their Excellencies, as guests of the Premier of Tasmania, The Honourable David Bartlett MP, attended a civic reception hosted in their honour.

On Wednesday 4 June 2008, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery commenced an official visit to Tasmania.

In the evening, at Government House, Hobart, Their Excellencies attended a State Farewell Dinner hosted in their honour by the Governor of Tasmania, His Excellency The Honourable Peter Underwood AO and Mrs Frances Underwood.

On Tuesday 3 June 2008, at Kooyong, Melbourne, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gerard Menses, visited the Vision Australia Victorian Head Office at which the Governor-General delivered an address and presented bursaries to visually impaired Victorian tertiary students.

On Sunday 1 June 2008, at The Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended the Inaugural Annual Bomber Command Commemorative Ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath and delivered the Commemorative Address.
