On Tuesday 8 April 2008, at HMAS Stirling, Western Australia, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force, reviewed the parade and presented the 2007 Gloucester Cup to the Commanding Officer of HMAS RANKIN.

On Monday 7 April 2008, at Mandurah, Western Australia, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened Rolly and Kerry Tasker's Australian Sailing Museum.

In the evening, at West Perth, Their Excellencies, as guests of honour, attended a dinner at which the Governor-General, as Patron of the National Gallery of Australia Foundation, delivered an address.

On Saturday 5 April 2008, at Scarborough Beach, Western Australia, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the 2008 UBD Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, at which the Governor-General, as Patron of Surf Life Saving Australia, delivered an address and presented meritorious awards.

On Sunday 6 April 2008, at St George's Cathedral, Perth, Their Excellencies attended a Choral Evensong to mark the Cathedral Choir's trip to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of Villers-Brettoneux in France.

On Friday 4 April 2008, at Fremantle, Western Australia, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Managing Director, Dr Michael Ottaviano and the Chairman, Mr Alan Burns, toured Carnegie Corporation's CETO Wave Energy Research Facility.

On Thursday 3 April 2008, at Adelaide Airport, South Australia, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as Joint Patrons of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, attended a morning tea with staff and supporters of the RFDS Central Operations Branch.

In the evening, at Government House, Adelaide, Their Excellencies attended a State Farewell Dinner hosted in their honour by the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR and Mrs Liz Scarce.

On Tuesday 1 April 2008 at Angepena Station, Flinders Ranges SA, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as a guest of the Executive Director, Mr John Shepherd AM, visited Operation Flinders staff and participants.

Earlier, at Government House, Adelaide, Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as a guest of the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR and Mrs Liz Scarce, attended an Investiture ceremony and luncheon.

On Monday 31 March 2008 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the 2nd International Salinity Forum, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Adelaide, the Governor-General received Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the Governor-General: Wing Commander Rick Subotkiewicz, ADC; Brigadier Tim Hanna, ADC; and Commander Craig Pritchard, ADC RAN.

On Sunday 30 March 2008, at the National Motor Museum, Birdwood, South Australia, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially unveiled the first of three busts of Mr E. G. ???Tom' Kruse MBE. Afterwards, as guests of the Director, Mr Kym Hulme, Their Excellencies toured the Museum.

On Friday 28 March 2008, at Sydney City, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as a guest of the Chairman of Energy Australia, Mr John Conde AO and the Manager Engineering Development, Mr Phil McKee, toured the Sydney Electricity Tunnel.

On Thursday 27 March 2008 at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Circular Quay, Sydney, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a luncheon for Can Assist: Cancer Assistance Network, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address. In the evening, at Admiralty House, Their Excellencies hosted a reception for Vision Australia.
