On Wednesday 21 March 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Her??Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery received the Prime Minister, the Honourable John Howard MP. Afterwards, the Governor-General on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, signed the instruments of revocation and appointments for the Minister and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

On Tuesday 20 March 2007, at University of Southern, Queensland, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Chancellor Mrs Bobbie Brazil, visited the Centre for Sustainable Catchment.

Later, Their Excellencies attended a luncheon with members of the faculty hosted by the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Southern Queensland.

On Monday 19 March 2007, at Kelvin Grove Campus, Queensland University of Technology, Queensland, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Student Learning Support Centre.

On Friday 16 March 2007, at Rosebery, NSW, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Patron of the Australian Golf Club, participated in the AGC Foundation Day golf competition.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of honour, attended the Australian Golf Club Foundation Annual Dinner, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address.

On Wednesday 14 March 2007, at Fairbairn, ACT, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a ceremony to formally receive the Australians who lost their lives in the airline tragedy in Yogyakarta, Indonesia: Mr Morgan Mellish; Ms Elizabeth O'Neill OAM; Federal Agent Mark Scott; Federal Agent Brice Steele; and Ms Allison Sudradjat. Afterwards, the Governor-General offered condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the Nation.

On Tuesday 13 March 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Australian Ambassador-designate to The Kingdom of Sweden, Mr Howard Brown.

Earlier, the Governor-General issued a message of sympathy and support to the Pilbara community in Western Australia following the tragic death and injury toll associated with Cyclone George.

On Monday 12 March 2007, at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Barton, ACT Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the Inaugural Multi-faith Commonwealth Day Celebration Service at which the Governor-General, as Patron of the Royal Commonwealth Society ACT Branch, read a Commonwealth Day message from Her Majesty The Queen.

On Friday 9 March 2007 at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery received the Prime Minister, the Honourable John Howard MP and Mrs Janette Howard. Afterwards, the Governor-General on the recommendation of the Prime Minister signed the instruments of revocation and appointments for the Ministers to their respective new offices.

On Thursday 8 March 2007 at the Deutsche Bank Building, Sydney, His Excellency the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC attended a Sharelife Australia Board Meeting, and afterwards officially opened the Pacific Equity Partners Offices.

On Wednesday 7 March 2007 at Government House Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, officially opened the new building housing the Australian Honours and Awards Secretariat.
