Killarney Centenary Agriculture Show

On Saturday 25 February 2012, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President of the Killarney Show and Rodeo Society, Mr David Thomson, and Patron of the Killarney Show and Rodeo Society, Mr Cec Jamieson, attended the Killarney Centenary Agriculture Show, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

On Friday 24 February 2012, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received Head of Partnerships and Events, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Professor Nadia Badawi; Macquarie Group Foundation Chair of Cerebral Palsy, Ms Jane Ogilvie; Council of Governors, Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation, Ms Sally Loane; and Ms Shannon Clough.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Principal of The Women’s College, Dr Jane Williamson.

Then, the Governor-General received glass artist, Mrs Kristen Dibbs.

Governor-General congratulates work done by Foodbank Australia

The Governor-General, as Patron of Foodbank Australia, congratulated the organisation's important work in assisting Australians by providing 75,000 meals every day, during an event at Admiralty House, Sydney.

The Governor-General presented the Foodbank Australia Patron's Award to the General Counsel of Lion, Mr Duncan Makeig, and the Hall of Fame Award to former Managing Director and CEO of Woolworths Limited, Mr Michael Luscombe.

Federal Executive Council; Reception for the Council for the Order of Australia; University of Canberra Brumbies 2012 Season Launch

On Wednesday 22 February 2012, at Government House, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Deputy Mayor of the Temora Shire Council, Councillor Rick Firman, and the founder of TeleMedicine Australia, Dr Ash Collins.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, received Chief Executive of the Melba Foundation, Ms Maria Vandamme.

Governor-General joins celebrations for Australian Volunteers International's 60th anniversary

The Governor-General joined former volunteers, Heads of Mission and staff from Australian Volunteers International to celebrate the organisation’s 60th anniversary at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra.

Marking the occasion as Patron of AVI’s Lawyers Beyond Borders, Ms Bryce was joined by the Hon. Mr Michael Kirby AC CMG, AVI Board Chair, His Honour Justice Richard Refshauge SC, and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Argentina, His Excellency Mr Pedro Raul Villagra Delgado, in recognising the important work done by the organisation.

Australian Volunteers International

On Tuesday 21 February 2012, at Government House, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received a Research Fellow of Australian and Indigenous Studies, at the School of Journalism of Monash University, Dr Karen Hughes.

Afterwards, at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra the Governor-General, as guest of the Chair of Australian Volunteers International, His Honour Justice Richard Refshauge SC, attended a reception marking 60 years of Australian International Volunteering, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.
