On Friday 2 September 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Convenor of the International Women’s League for Peace and Freedom, Ms Mary Ziesak. Ms Ziesak was accompanied by committee members: Ms Margaret Bearlin; Ms Barbara O'Dwyer; Ms Lyn Lane; Ms Annie Didcott; Ms Zahira Madeliene Bullock; Ms Lois Mcrae; Ms Ruth Corrigan; Ms Regina MacKenzie; Ms Penny Lockwood; and Ms Jan Goldsworthy.

On Wednesday 31 August 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the President, Mr Terry Fewtrell, and Committee Members of the Wattle Day Association, and later accepted a basket of wattle from students of Canberra Girls Grammar School in recognition of Wattle Day.

On Tuesday 30 August 2011, at Macquarie University, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited the Mia Mia Child and Family Studies Centre and met with staff and students.

Later, at the Four Seasons Hotel, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the National Convenor, Professor David Flint AM, attended a lunch for Australians for Constitutional Monarchy, at which the Governor-General gave an address.

On Monday 29 August 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, received from the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Kim Brislane; Communications Manager, Ms Soraya Calavassy; and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awardees, Ms Lucky Giirre, Mr Alan Huynh and Ms Ramla Giirre.

Northcott Disability Services Interschool Senior Athletics Carnival; Our Lady of Mercy College Year 12 students

On Friday 26 August 2011, at Sydney Olympic Park, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Northcott Disability Services Interschool Senior Athletics Carnival, at which the Governor-General presented awards to wheelchair race participants.

Afterwards, at Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta, the Governor-General, as guest of the Principal, Ms Kitty Guerin, met with Year 12 students.

On Thursday 25 August 2011, Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr Nasir Ahmed Andisha, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Abdul Khaliq Arsala (Counsellor), Mr Fazal Katawazai (First Secretary) and Mr Wais Sidiqi (Second Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Jyotsna Hamida Andisha.

State Memorial Service for the late Ms Margaret Olley AC; St Francis of Assisi Primary School Book Week 2011

On Wednesday 24 August 2011, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the State Memorial Service for the late Ms Margaret Olley AC, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

Afterwards, at St Francis of Assisi Primary School, Calwell, the Governor-General, as National Patron of the Children's Book Council of Australia, conducted a book reading and officially launched St Francis of Assisi Primary School Book Week 2011.

Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of Seychelles; State Lunch in honour of the President of the Republic of Seychelles

On Tuesday 23 August 2011, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Mr James Alix Michel.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Australian High Commissioner to the Republic of Seychelles, Ms Sandra Vegting.

Later, the Governor-General received the President of the Republic of Seychelles.
