On Saturday 13 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Jamie Barkley, CEO, Australian Turf Club, attended the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney.

On Friday 12 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Order of Australia honours and bravery decorations at Government House, Canberra.

On Thursday 11 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Scott Morrison MP at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Official Secretary to the Governor-General, Mr Paul Singer MVO, read the Governor-General’s proclamation to prorogue the Parliament and dissolve the House of Representatives.

Later, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council at Government House, Canberra.

On Wednesday 10 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Order of Australia honours and bravery decorations at Government House, Canberra.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Singleton Public School, NSW; Methodist Ladies College, WA; and Yahl Primary School, SA as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Tuesday 9 April 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Her Excellency Ms Beryl Sisulu, High Commissioner for the Republic of South Africa, for a farewell call at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Somasundaram Skandakumar, High Commissioner for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, for a farewell call.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Service Warrant Officers and their partners.

Afterwards the Governor-General, as Senior Patron of The Royal Humane Society of Australasia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an investiture ceremony for Constable Zachary Rolfe, 2018 recipient of the Clarke Gold Medal.
