On Monday 18 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, visited the New Zealand High Commission, as guests of Mr Llewellyn Roberts, Deputy High Commissioner, to sign a condolence book for victims of the Christchurch shootings.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of WGCDR Jason Brown, CO 2 SQN, visited the E-7A Wedgetail AEW&C aircraft and met with crew members at RAAF Fairbairn.

On Saturday 16 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended the Open Day at Government House, Canberra.

On Friday 15 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with students from Firbank Grammar School, Sandringham, VIC as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General phoned the Governor-General of New Zealand, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM QSO, to express, on behalf of all Australians, sadness and sympathy to those affected by the Christchurch incident.

On Thursday 14 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, participated in the Channel 7 Sunrise Weather cross at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove conducted a television interview with the ABC in preparation for Government House Open Day.

On Wednesday 13 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, received Letters of Credence from Doctor Tomáš Ferko, accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Nora Heffner (Deputy Head of Mission). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Laura Ferko.

On Monday 12 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the funeral for the late Mr Les Carlyon AC at the Atrium Room, Flemington Racecourse.

On Monday 11 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the funeral for the late Mr John Kennerley at All Saints Anglican Church, Woolahra.

On Friday 8 March 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Kathy Hirschfeld, President, UN Women’s National Committee, attended the UN Women’s National Committee’s International Women’s day celebration at the Sydney International Convention Centre.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Commodore Robert Plath RAN, Deputy Fleet Commander, presented the Gloucester Cup to HMAS Melbourne at Fleet Base East, Sydney.

On Thursday 7 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council at Government House, Canberra.

Earlier, Lady Cosgrove, as guest of Mrs Ana Gutteres, President, Association of Spouses of Heads of Mission, attended a celebration for International Women’s Day at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a morning tea in celebration of International Women’s Day at Government House, Canberra.

On Wednesday 6 March 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Karen Cornelius, Principal, met with staff and students at the Coober Pedy Area School.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Anthony Ryan, Regional Director of Nursing, and Mrs Julia Waddington-Powell, Acting Executive Officer, met with staff and patients at Coober Pedy Hospital.
