On Friday 6 April 2018, at Broadbeach Bowls Club, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of President, Lawn Bowls Australia, Mr Darryl Clout, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games Round 3 matches of the Men’s Triples between Australia and Botswana and the Women’s Singles Lawn Bowls between Australia and Zambia. Their Excellencies watched Mr Barrie Lester, Mr Nathan Rice and Mr Aron Sherriff, and Ms Karen Murphy win both matches.

On Thursday 5 April 2018, Gold Coast, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, met with the Governor-General of Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Sir Robert Dadae GCMG and Lady Hannah Dadae.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Major-General Jioji Konousi Konrote OF MC (Retd) and Lady Sarote Konrote.

On Wednesday 4 April 2018, at Old Government House, Brisbane, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a ceremonial welcome for Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

On Tuesday 3 April 2018, at Commonwealth Games Headquarters, Ashmore, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) as Patron of Commonwealth Games Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chief Executive Officer, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), the Honourable Peter Beattie AC, visited the Games Operations Centre.

On Monday 2 April 2018, at the Commonwealth Games Village, Southport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) as Patron of Commonwealth Games Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Chief Executive Officer, Mr Craig Phillips, addressed the Australian team, viewed the facilities, and met with athletes, coaches, support staff and volunteers.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Commonwealth Games Village Australian Team Welcome Ceremony.

On Sunday 1 April 2018, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Commander Mark McConnell ADC RAN for the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency Baron Divavesi Waqa and Her Excellency Louisa Waqa.

Afterwards, the Governor-General was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Commander Mark McConnell ADC RAN for the arrival in Australia of the Governor of Anguilla, His Excellency Sir Tim Foy OBE and Dr Dina Foy.

On Friday 30 March 2018, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Captain Craig Powell ADC RAN for the arrival in Australia of the King of the Kingdom of Tonga, His Majesty King George Tupou VI and Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u Vaea.

On Thursday 29 March 2018, at the Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

On Wednesday 28 March 2018, at the Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with participants of the Alpine Valley Community Leadership Program, VIC, as they undertook a tour of Government House.

In the afternoon, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General hosted a reception for the National Council of Women Australia.

Earlier, the Governor-General participated in a video call from Tasman District School, TAS as part of their civics and citizenship classes.

On Tuesday 27 March 2018, at the National Gallery of Australia, Parkes, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Director, National Gallery of Australia, Dr Gerard Vaughan AM, attended the ‘Cartier: The Exhibition’ preview.
