On Wednesday 30 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an afternoon tea for the R U OK? Conversation Convoy, where the Governor-General participated in a carpool conversation.

Canberra, ACT

On Tuesday 29 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea for One Young World’s (OYW) Australian delegates, prior to their departure to Columbia for the annual OYW summit.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an award ceremony for the Constitution Education Fund Australia, at which the Governor-General presented the 2016 Governor-General’s Prize.

Canberra, ACT

On Monday 28 August 2017, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the national launch of Legacy Week.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, received a briefing by the Military History Section of the Australian War Memorial.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the French Republic, Mr Brendan Berne.

On Sunday 27 August 2017, at Always Means Fun Bowling Centre, Tuggeranong, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Life Member, Australian Tenpin Bowling Senior Organisation ACT, Mr Ian Swan, opened the 25th Interstate Tenpin Bowling Championship.

Afterwards, at Commonwealth Park, Canberra, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of President, Parkinson’s ACT, Mr John Sheldick, participated in the Parkinson’s ACT ‘A Walk in the Park’.

Mandurah, WA

On Saturday 26 August 2017, at the Mandurah Volunteer Marine Rescue Centre, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Vice Commander, Mr John Blay, viewed the facilities, were briefed on operations and met with staff.

In the afternoon, at the Mandurah War Memorial, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Director People and Communities, Ms Lesley Wilkinson, viewed the memorial and laid a wreath.

Canberra, ACT; Port Augusta, SA

On Thursday 24 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, at the Wadlata Outback Centre, Port Augusta, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director Community Services, Mrs Anne O’Reilly, viewed the facilities, received a brief on operations and met with staff and volunteers.

On Wednesday 23 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a reception for the unveiling of a new vehicle for the Everyman’s Welfare Service.

Earlier, the Governor-General received a video call from Manjimup Senior High School, WA, as part of their civics and citizenship classes.

On Tuesday 22 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Kenya, Ms Alison Chartres.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Pacific Pines State School, QLD; Mirani State School, QLD; and Immaculate Heart Catholic Primary School, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 21 August 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mr Peter Tesch.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile, His Excellency Mr Daniel Carvallo.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Excellency Mr Chirachai Punkrasin.
