On Sunday 7 May 2017, at Knox Grammar School, Wahroonga, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Knox Grammar School ANZAC Day service and parade.

In the afternoon, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Australasian College of Road Safety, and Lady Cosgrove officially launched the 2017 UN Global Road Safety Week.

On Saturday 6 May 2017, on Sydney Harbour, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of Commodore Brian Robertson AM (Retd), attended the 2017 League of Ancient Mariners lunch.

Canberra, ACT

On Friday 5 May 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, received the Chair of Keep Australia Beautiful, Mr David Carter.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr Thanh Nghi Luong.

On Thursday 4 May 2017, at the National Arboretum, Canberra, Lady Cosgrove, as a guest of the Chair of Friends of the National Arboretum Canberra, Ms Trish Keller OAM, attended a book reading for children of first responders.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), met with students from Melbourne Grammar School, VIC; St Louis De Mondforts School, VIC; and Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School, VIC, as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students from St Augustine’s College, VIC; St Louis De Monforts School, VIC; Yackandandah Primary School, VIC; and St Clair Public School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House, as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 1 May 2017, at the Battle of the Coral Sea Memorial, Townsville, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Naval Association of Australia Townsville and District Sub-Section, Mr Trevor Williams, attended a Dawn Service for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea.

On Thursday 27 April 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received a video call from students attending Bairnsdale Primary School, VIC, as part of their civics and citizenship class.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General met with students from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College, NT; and Holy Family Primary School, NSW, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea; Gurney, Alotau, Papua New Guinea

On Wednesday 26 April 2017, at the Catholic Health Services International Clinic, Port Moresby, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Former Head of the Catholic Church Service, Sister Tarcisia Hunhoff, viewed the Australian-funded programs and received a briefing on the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Papua New Guinea.

Afterwards, at Gurney Airport, Alotau, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Governor of Milne Bay Province, the Honourable Titus Philemon MP, attended a Ceremonial Welcome.
