On Sunday 3 April 2016, at Manuka Oval, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Operating Officer, Greater Western Sydney GIANTS, Mr Richard Griffiths attended the GWS GIANTS versus Geelong Cats match.

On Saturday 2 April 2016, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove attended the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police Centenary Parade, at which the Governor-General reviewed the parade and delivered the Commemorative Address.

In the evening, at GIO stadium, Bruce, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Brumbies Rugby Union, Mr Michael Jones, attended the Aquis Brumbies versus Chiefs Super Rugby match.
