On Friday 27 March 2015, at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Hainan, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended a welcome ceremony.
Afterwards, in Lao’ao Village, Hainan, the Governor-General, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Political Commissar to the People’s Liberation Army, Major General Liu Xin, visited the Australian Gull Force Memorial, at which the Governor-General laid a wreath, and together with Lady Cosgrove, planted a tree in honour of the Australian members of Gull Force.

Afterwards, in Guangzhou, China, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended a Cantonese ‘yum cha’ reception with members of the Australian community including Austcham, alumni groups, business leaders and representatives of the community sector and the Guangzhou AFL team.

On Tuesday 24 March 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Senkoun Sylla, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador for the Republic of Guinea.
Later, the Governor-General received the National President and Chairman, Australia China Business Council, the Honourable John Brumby and the Chief Executive Officer, the Australia China Business Council, Ms Martine Letts.
