In the evening, at the Royal Darwin Hospital Campus, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Professor Alan Cass and Mr Peter Plummer, attended the Menzies School of Health Research Dinner.

On Tuesday 3 November 2015, at Flemington Racecourse, Victoria, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Victoria Racing Club, Mr Michael Burn, attended the Melbourne Cup Day, at which the Governor-General presented the Melbourne Cup trophy to Mr Sandy McGregor, who received the trophy on behalf of the winning connections.

On Sunday 25 October 2015, at Twickenham, London, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, Australian Rugby Union, and Lady Cosgrove attended the 2015 Rugby World Cup Semi Final match between the Australian Wallabies and Argentinian Pumas.
