Visit to Hobart

On Monday 23 March 2015, at Warrane, Hobart, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of OAK Tasmania, Mr John Paton, met with staff and guests at Oakdale Industries and attended a morning tea at which the Governor-General presented Mr Peter Harvey a certificate recognising 50 years of service.

Dinner hosted by the Governor of Tasmania

On Sunday 22 March 2015, at Government House, Tasmania, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with the Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AM, and Mr Richard Warner.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a dinner hosted in their honour by the Governor of Tasmania and Mr Warner.

Visit to Townsville

On Saturday 21 March 2015, at The Strand, Townsville, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, reviewed the Townsville Operation Slipper Welcome Home Parade.

Afterwards, at Anzac Park, Townsville, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Townsville Operation Slipper Commemorative Service, at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address.

Australia’s Federation Guard 15th Birthday; Opening of ‘Learning and Innovation for a New Queensland’ Precinct at Sheldon College; Opening of ‘Jennifer Reeves Building’ at St Hilda’s School

On Friday 20 March 2015, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Officer Commanding, Australia’s Federation Guard, Major Francois Nozaic, attended a morning tea at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, presented awards to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Guard.

Kookaburra Kids lunch; Centre for Social Impact afternoon tea; 2015 Cricket World Cup Quarter Final match; New South Wales based Youth Patronages dinner

On Wednesday 18 March 2015, at Park Hyatt, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Pam Brown, attended the Kookaburra Kids lunch where Lady Cosgrove was announced as an Ambassador of the organisation.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted an afternoon tea for the Centre for Social Impact.

Opening of Robert Poate Reintegration and Recovery Centre and National Soldier On Headquarters; Call by the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

On Tuesday 17 March 2015, at Gungahlin Homestead, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) as guest of the Chairman, Soldier On, Lieutenant General Professor Peter Leahy AC (Retd), opened the relocated Robert Poate Reintegration and Recovery Centre and National Soldier On Headquarters.
