Reception in honour of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Dr Angela Merkel

At Admiralty House, Sydney, NSW, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Dr Angela Merkel, and the Prime Minister of Australia, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP, before hosting a reception in honour of the Chancellor.

On Saturday 15 November 2014, at RAAF Base Amberley, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the arrival in Australia of the President of the United States of America, the Honourable Barack Obama.

Afterwards, at the UQ Centre, St Lucia, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a presentation by President Barack Obama.

On Friday 14 November 2014, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Mr Joko Widodo.

Afterwards, in Brisbane, the Governor-General, as guest of the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, met with staff and volunteers at the G20 Operations Centre.

On Thursday 13 November 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Chairman, Mr Ken Harrison, attended a commemorative ceremony in honour of the ANZAC centenary and planted a Gallipoli Oak.
