On Tuesday 19 August 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett AO CSC RAN.

Singleton Red Cross brunch; Official opening of the Cessnock Police Citizens Youth Club; Variety National Bash dinner

On Sunday 17 August 2014, at the Singleton Showgrounds, New South Wales, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a brunch in recognition of the centenary of the Australian Red Cross and viewed the centenary exhibition.

Afterwards, in Cessnock, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of the Police Citizens Youth Club – NSW, Mr Darren Black, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Cessnock Police Citizens Youth Club.

Visit to Ronald McDonald House; Bledisloe Cup test match

On Saturday 16 August 2014, in Brisbane, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, visited the Ronald McDonald House - Herston.

In the evening, at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, the Governor-General, as Patron of Australian Rugby Union, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the first Bledisloe Cup test match between Australia and New Zealand.

Lunch with the Governor of Queensland and Mrs de Jersey; 100th anniversary of the Headquarters 1st Division and Deployable Joint Force Headquarters.

On Friday 15 August 2014, at Government House, Queensland, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a lunch with the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey.

Afterwards, in Brisbane, the Governor-General met with the Premier of Queensland, the Honourable Campbell Newman MP.

Later, at Parliament House, Queensland, the Governor-General met with the Speaker of the Queensland Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Fiona Simpson MP.
