On Wednesday 2 July 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General was invested as a Knight of Justice in the Most Venerable Order of St John.

Re-dedication of the Stephen King Memorial Centre; Farewell dinner for the Chief of Defence Force

On Tuesday 1 July 2014, in Page, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the President of the Vietnam Veterans and Veterans Federation – ACT, Major James Wain (Retd), re-dedicated the Stephen King Memorial Centre and attended a morning tea with Veterans.

Federal Executive Council Meeting; Opening of the Michael Fussell Reintegration and Recovery Centre; Visit to Mission Australia Centre

On Thursday 26 June 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, in Milsons Point, New South Wales, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Soldier On, Mr John Bale, officially opened the Michael Fussell Reintegration and Recovery Centre.

At Milsons Point, New South Wales, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Soldier On, Mr John Bale, officially opened the 'Soldier On' Michael Fussell Reintegration and Recovery Centre, which provides support to people affected by their military service and is named in honour of Lieutenant Michael Fussell, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in November 2008.

Reception for Heads of Mission; New Colombo Plan scholarship presentation dinner

On Wednesday 25 June 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the

High Commissioner to New Zealand, Mr Michael Potts.

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a lunch reception for Heads of Mission of the Canberra Diplomatic Corps.

In the evening, in Barton, the Governor-General, as Patron and guest of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Julie Bishop MP, attended the New Colombo Plan scholarship presentation dinner.
