On Wednesday 14 May 2014, in Mossman Gorge, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Acting Chair, Mr Matthew Gibson, met with the Board of Directors of Bamanga Bubu Ngadimunku Inc.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Cape York Institute, Ms Fiona Jose, visited the Mossman Gorge Opportunity Hub and Wellbeing Centre.

On Tuesday 13 May 2014, in Yungaburra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Afghanistan Avenue of Honour Association, Mr Raymond Byrnes, and Founders, Mr Gordon Chuck and Mrs Susan Chuck, attended a commemoration ceremony and met with community representatives.

Afterwards, at the Yungaburra Community Hall, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a community reception hosted in their honour.

At Apunipima Health Council, Cairns, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Office, Mr Cleveland Fagan, and Business Strategy Advisor, Ms Paula Arnol, received a brief on Indigenous health programs in Cape York.

Then, at the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Mr Noel Pearson, and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Fiona Jose, received a briefing on welfare reform programs in Cape York.

At the Cairns Base Hospital, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Mr Bob Norman and Chief Executive, Ms Julie Hartley-Jones, met with patients and staff and viewed the new rehabilitation ward.

At the Cairns Regional Council Civic Reception Rooms, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of the Cairns Regional Council, Councillor Bob Manning OAM and Mrs Claire Manning, attended a civic reception hosted in their honour.

On Monday 12 May 2014, in Townsville, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of Townsville Regional Council, Councillor Jenny Hill, visited Jezzine Barracks and in recognition of National Volunteers Week, met with representatives of local volunteer organisations.

Afterwards, in Innisfail, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor, Councillor Bill Shannon, attended a briefing on the Cassowary Coast Region.

In Townsville, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of Townsville Regional Council, Councillor Jenny Hill, visited Jezzine Barracks and in recognition of National Volunteers Week, met with representatives of local volunteer organisations.

At Innisfail State College, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Ms Kate McDonald, met with students and staff.
