On Wednesday 18 September 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to newly appointed Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Later, the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

On Tuesday 17 September 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, was presented with a Honorary Life Membership of Australasian Law Teachers Association by President, Professor Stephen Bottomley, and Immediate Past President, Professor Michael Coper.

Afterwards, at the Australian Signals Directorate, the Governor-General, as the Commander-in-Chief and guest of the Deputy Secretary Intelligence and Security Group, Mr Steve Meekin AM, received briefings and visited the Cyber Security Operations Centre.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Secretary of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Mr Martin Bowles PSM, attended a reception at which the Governor-General presided over a Citizenship Ceremony in recognition of Australian Citizenship Day at the National Arboretum.

On Monday 16 September 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a farewell function for the Former Director of the National Museum of Australia, Mr Andrew Sayers AM.

Earlier, Mr Bryce received the Dean of the University of Canberra Faculty of Arts and Design, Professor Lyndon Anderson.

On Friday 13 September 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, hosted an Investiture Ceremony.

The Governor-General and ACT Chief Minister, Ms Katy Gallagher MLA, officially announced it was one week until the Governor-General’s Centenary Family Picnic Day at Government House.

The Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, hosted an Investiture Ceremony at Government House, Canberra.

The ceremony was the 50th conducted by the Governor-General since beginning her term of office in September 2008.

At the Australian War Memorial, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of the RAAF Association ACT, delivered a Commemorative Address at the ACT and Region Battle of Britain Ceremony.

On Thursday 12 September 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted Investiture Ceremonies.
