University of Melbourne Degree Conferring Ceremony; Lunch with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne

On Saturday 16 March 2013, at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glyn Davis AC, attended a degree conferral ceremony, at which the Governor-General was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate and delivered the occasional address.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a lunch hosted in their honour by the Vice-Chancellor.

Ceremonial Welcome and State Lunch for the President of the Republic of Mozambique

On Friday 15 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the Australian (non-resident) High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique, Mr Graeme Wilson.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for the President of the Republic of Mozambique, His Excellency Armando Emilio Guebuza, and Madam Maria da Luz Dai Guebuza.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce welcomed the President of the Republic of Mozambique, His Excellency Armando Emilio Guebuza, and Madam Maria da Luz Dai Guebuza at Government House, Canberra.

On arrival, President Guebuza received a 21-gun and national salute before being invited to inspect Australia’s Federation Guard and the Royal Military College Band, Duntroon.

The Governor-General and Mr Bryce were later joined by the President and First Lady for formal talks followed by a lunch hosted in honour of the President’s State Visit.

On Thursday 14 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for participants of the 2013 National Rally for 1 & 2 Cylinder Cars and Bikes, marking the 50th Anniversary of the Veteran and Vintage Chevrolet Association of Australia.

Governor-General hosts participants of 2013 National Rally for 1 and 2 Cylinder Cars and Bikes

Over 50 vintage motor vehicles were on show as the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce hosted participants of the 2013 National Rally for 1 and 2 Cylinder Cars and Bikes at Government House, Canberra.

The event also recognised the 50th anniversary of the Veteran and Vintage Car Club of the A.C.T. (VVCCA).

On Wednesday 13 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Chief Executive Officer of Contact Inc, Ms Sue Kingwill.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor-General received the Denmark RSL Youth Achievement Award Winner, Miss Sophie Reeves, accompanied by Mrs Merida Watson.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Korea, Mr Bill Paterson PSM.

On Tuesday 12 March 2013, at Capital Hill, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the ACT Chief Minister, Ms Katy Gallagher MLA, attended the Foundation Stone Ceremony, at which the Governor-General reviewed the parade and Mr Bryce recited Lady Denman’s words of 1913.
