On the eve of International Women's Day, the Governor-General celebrated with supporters of the International Women's Development Agency (IWDA) at the "Half the Sky" concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Ms Bryce, who is Patron of IWDA, gave the keynote address to over 700 guests at the IWDA event.
On Wednesday 6 March 2013, at the National Museum, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as guest of the Director of the National Museum, Mr Andrew Sayers AM, officially opened the ‘Glorious Days: Australia 1913’ exhibition, as part of the Centenary of Canberra celebrations.
Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the winner of the 2012 Michael Bryce Design Award, Mr Tim Dyer, and the Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Arts and Design, University of Canberra, Dr Michael Jasper.
An exhibition of historic treasures and memories was opened by the Governor-General at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra.
'Glorious Days: Australia 1913', held in Canberra's centenary year, is a collection of artworks, objects and artefacts representative of Australia in 1913.
On Tuesday 5 March 2013, at Monash University, Clayton, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the State Memorial Service for the late Honourable Joan Child AO, at which the Governor-General delivered a reading.
On Monday 4 March 2013, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received the Managing Director of the Australian School of Performing Arts, Ms Nicole Muir.
On Saturday 2 March 2013, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency Anote Tong MP, by Brigadier Greg Bilton CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
On Friday 1 March 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception to mark the 20th Anniversary of the commencement of Australia’s Disability Discrimination Act, at which the Governor-General launched the video series ‘20 Years, 20 Stories’ and, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Mr David Mason PSM with the insignia of his Public Service Medal.
The Governor-General launched the short films, 'Twenty Years: Twenty Stories', during an event to mark two decades since the commencement of the Disability Discrimination Act at Admiralty House, Sydney.
Before the event, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Mr David Mason PSM of the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) with a Public Service Medal.
Ms Bryce later joined the Disability Discrimination Commissioner, Mr Graeme Innes AM, for the launch of the short films and met supporters of the AHRC.
On Wednesday 27 February 2013, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, received the Auditor-General of New South Wales, Mr Peter Achterstraat.
Afterwards, the Administrator met with representatives of the SBS National Indigenous Television Channel to discuss Redfern Jarjum College.
Later, the Administrator, as guest of the Mayor of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Councillor Peter Besseling, viewed flood affected areas of Port Macquarie, Wauchope and the surrounding district.
On Tuesday 26 February 2013, at the Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as Patron, officially opened The Royal United Services Institute of New South Wales International Defence and Security Dialogue.
Afterwards, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, His Excellency Mr Enrique Viguera.
