As Commander-in-Chief, the Governor-General commemorated the 60th anniversary of Australia's involvement in the Korean War 'with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Korean War Memorial, Seoul.

The General Director of the Memorial, Lieutenant General Sun (ret'd), greeted the Governor-General and escorted her to the Cornucopia where she and Mr Michael Bryce laid wreaths. Ms Bryce was later escorted to the Australian Rolls of Honour and laid a poppy below the names of the 340 Australians killed in action during the war.

The Governor-General hosted leading South Korean and Australian executives for a business lunch in Seoul.

Ms Bryce stressed the importance of the bilateral relationship with the Republic of Korea, which is Australia's third-largest export market and fourth-largest trading partner.

The Governor-General held a roundtable meeting with some of the Republic of Korea's leading women during a visit to the EWHA Women's University in Seoul.

The President of the University, Professor Kim Sun-Uk, welcomed Ms Bryce before she attended the meeting with women representatives from business, politics and academia.

The Governor-General formally met the new President of the Republic of Korea, Her Excellency Park Geun-hye, at the Blue House in Seoul.

During the meeting, Ms Bryce and President Park discussed Australia and the Republic of Korea's cultural, economic and trade relationship.

On Monday 25 February 2013, at Parliament House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, officially opened the ‘Multicultural Media at a Crossroads Conference.’

Afterwards, at The Parish Church of St James, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, attended a memorial service for the late Dr Colin Laverty.

The Governor-General represented Australia at the Inauguration of the President of the Republic of Korea, Her Excellency Park Geun-hye, at the National Assembly in Seoul.

Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce joined other world leaders and tens of thousands of citizens at the inauguration of the Republic of Korea's first female President.

Later, the Governor-General proposed a toast at a dinner in honour of President Park at the Blue House in Seoul.

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce met Australian and local staff members at the Australian Embassy in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

On Sunday 24 February 2013, at Freedom House, Camp Bonifas, Republic of Korea, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Deputy Chief of Staff for the United Nations and U.S. Forces Korea, Major General Brian Bishop, received a briefing on the Korean War and United National Command.

Afterwards, in the Joint Security Area, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce viewed Conference Row and attended a briefing at Building T2.

The Governor-General visited the Demilitarised Zone in Panmunjom as the guest of the Deputy Senior Member of the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission and Deputy Chief of Staff of United Nations Command and United States Forces Korea, Major General Brian Bishop.

At Freedom House, Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce were briefed on the history and operations undertaken by the United Nations forces in the Joint Security Area before visiting Conference Room T2, which is situated along the Military Demarcation Line.

On Saturday 23 February 2013, following the departure of the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO to undertake an official visit to the Republic of Korea, the proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Afterwards, at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, the Administrator, as guest of the Head of Learning, Ms Katie Russell, viewed the Toulouse Lautrec exhibition.
