Earlier, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Siren Gjerme Eriksen, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Martine Aamdal (First Secretary) and Ms Mary Andersen (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mr Emil Ragnar Steffensen. Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Patrick Renault, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium.

On Wednesday 16 September 2009 at The Sebel Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses at which the Governor-General, as Patron, delivered the opening address.

In the evening, at the Federal Golf Club, Canberra, Mr Bryce attended the Rotary Club of Woden dinner as guest speaker

On Tuesday 15 September 2009 at the Queensland State Library, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the President, Mr Neil Roberts, attended a morning tea for the Queensland Library Foundation.

On Sunday 13 September 2009, at the QANTAS Founders Museum, Longreach, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a lunch at which the Governor-General launched the Longreach Regional Council's Q150 Airport Redevelopment Project.

On Saturday 12 September 2009 in Ilfracombe, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Longreach Regional Council's Q150 Project - The Jacksons Collection Display.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the old Ilfracombe wool scour site. Later, at the Wellshot Hotel, Ilfracombe, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a community lunch.

On Thursday 10 September 2009 at Rydges Lakeside, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Australian Council of Stoma Associations 2009 National Conference and Annual General Meeting, at which the Governor-General, as Patron, delivered the opening address.
