On Wednesday 8 July 2009, at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Fred Hilmer AO, and the Director of the Social Policy Research Centre, Professor Ilan Katz, attended the Australian Social Policy Conference and delivered the opening address.

Afterwards, at the Queen's Club, Sydney, the Governor-General, as an Honorary member, attended the North of the Border Luncheon.

On Tuesday 7 July 2009, at St Stephen's Anglican Church, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the funeral service for the late Ms Valerie Street and read the first lesson.

Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General received author Ms Jane Tewson.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Director of the Australian Antarctic Division, Ms Lyn Maddock PSM, and the Support and Coordination Manager of the Australian Antarctic Division, Mr Richard Mulligan. In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted a reception for BBM Limited (formerly Big Brother Movement). Earlier, at the University of Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE officially opened the 30th Australian - New Zealand Student Architecture Congress.

On Friday 3 July 2009, at Our Lady and St Dympna Catholic Church, Brisbane, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the funeral of an indigenous elder.

In the evening, at the La Boite Theatre, Brisbane, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Sam Watson, attended ???Oodgeroo, Bloodline to Country'.

On Thursday 2 July 2009, in Birchip, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC officially opened the Birchip Cropping Group 2009 Grains Research Expo.

On Wednesday 1 July 2009, in Horsham, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC as guest of the Mayor of Horsham Rural City Council, Councillor Bernard Gross, visited the Sunnyside Lutheran Retirement Village.

On Tuesday 30 June 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Lemalu Tate Simi, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Independent State of Samoa.
