On Saturday 27 September 2008, at Government House, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE met with the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser AC and Mrs Jan de Kretser.

Later, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Football League, Mr Andrew Demetriou, attended the official luncheon and the 2008 Toyota AFL Grand Final Match: Geelong versus Hawthorn.

On Friday 26 September 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr Niek van Zutphen and the Director, Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Hague, Mr Joop Scheffers.

In the evening, the Governor-General and and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for members of the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery.

On Thursday 25 September 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Lieutenant General David Hurley AO DSC.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Leader of the Opposition, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Commissioner, Australian Federal Police, Commissioner Michael Keelty APM. Earlier, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the President of the National Trust of the Australian Capital Territory, Mr Eric Hill.

On Wednesday 24 September 2008, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director-General, Mr Ross Gibbs PSM, toured the National Archives of Australia.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie AO DSC CSM. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Russ Crane AM CSM RAN

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Mr Andrew Metcalfe. In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, Dr Jeff Harmer. Afterwards, the Governor-General received a farewell call from the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Her Excellency Mrs Karin Ehnbom-Palmquist.

On Wednesday 17 September 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Secretary of the Department of Finance and Deregulation, Dr Ian Watt AO.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Southern Stars Australian Women's Cricket Team members, Ms Alexandra Blackwell and Miss Ellyse Perry.
