Earlier, the Governor-General sent a message of sympathy to the Governor-General of Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Nathaniel Waena GCMG CSI KStJ, and the people of Solomon Islands following the devastating effects of the recent earthquakes and tsunami.

On Monday 2 April 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, received: the Chief of Army, Lieutenant-General Peter Leahy AO; accompanied by the Head of Corps, RAAMC, Brigadier Tony Gill; the Corps RSM, WO1 Mustafa Jesenkovic; and the Representative Honorary Colonel, RAAMC, Dr Bruce Perks.

On Tuesday 27 March 2007, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a Garden Party for members of the Diplomatic Corps.

Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the arrival in Australia of His Excellency Mr Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, by Colonel Bill Monfries, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
