On Wednesday 12 April 2017, at Elevation Church, Tweed Heads, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), attended the funeral service for the late Stephanie King and her children Ella Jane and Jacob.

On Tuesday 11 April 2017, at the Eden Killer Whale Museum, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Eden Killer Whale Museum Committee, Mr Jack Dickenson OAM, viewed the exhibits and met with members of the local community.

Afterwards, at the Eden Child Care Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Manager of Children, Families and Ageing, Bega Valley Shire Council, Ms Kristina Brenner, viewed the facilities and met with staff and children.

On Monday 10 April 2017, at Tathra Wharf, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Deputy Mayor of Bega Valley Shire Council, Councillor Liz Seckold, viewed the historic wharf and the Tathra Wharf Museum and met with volunteers and members of the public.

Afterwards, at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director of Bega Cheese Cooperative, Mr Max Roberts, viewed the facilities and met with staff and volunteers.

On Saturday 8 April 2017, at the Sydney Showground, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales, Mr Robert Ryan OAM, officially opened the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

On Friday 7 April 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor- General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Australian High Commissioner to the Republic of Nauru, Mr John Donnelly.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, received the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Baron Divavesi Waqa MP and Madam Louisa Waqa.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for His Excellency the Honourable Baron Divavesi Waqa MP and Madam Louisa Waqa.

On Thursday 6 April 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an afternoon tea for Variety Victoria Brat’s Bash.

In the afternoon, at Defence Establishment, Fairbairn, the Governor-General was represented for the arrival to Canberra of the President of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Baron Waqa, and Madam Louisa Waqa, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Acting Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

On Wednesday 5 April 2017, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, His Excellency Dr Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

On Tuesday 4 April 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, as guest speaker, and Lady Cosgrove attended the dedication of the Flanders Fields Memorial Garden.

On Monday 3 April 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor- General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Australian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr Richard Feakes.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, received the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, His Excellency Dr Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for His Excellency Dr Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
