The Governor-General visits the Telemedicine Australia offices in Temora

The future of quick, easy and cost effective care to people living in regional and remote areas was displayed during the Governor-General’s visit to the Telemedicine Australia offices in Temora.

Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce, as guests of CEO Dr Ashley Collins, met staff and viewed a demonstration of a consultation using a Telemedicine cart.

The cart provides a live video link between patient and medical professionals, and records patient information with peripheral devices.

The Governor-General attends the Temora and District Education Fund Annual Dinner

The Governor-General, as Patron of the Country Education Fund, and Mr Michael Bryce joined community members for the Temora and District Education Fund Annual Dinner at the Temora Aviation Museum.

As the guest of the Deputy Mayor and President of the Fund, Councillor Rick Firman, Ms Bryce described the Fund as a “practical and generous initiative” which assists the town’s young people to develop their potential.

Later, the Governor-General was introduced to dinner guests by Cr Firman.

Governor-General arrives in Temora, NSW

The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce spent two days with the community of Temora, NSW.

During the visit, Mr David Lowy AM, President and Founder of the Temora Aviation Museum, invited Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce to the ‘Fighter’ Showcase Day where they met local residents and viewed historical aircraft maintained at the site.

The Museum visit was also the Governor-General’s 1,000th domestic engagement since taking Office on 5 September 2008.

Battle of Britain; Probus Association of Canberra

On Friday 14 September 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received the Apostolic Nuncio for the Holy See, His Excellency Archbishop Giuseppe Lazzarotto.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Mr Primo Alui Joelianto.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr Jon Philp.

Earlier, at the Australian War Memorial, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Battle of Britain wreath laying ceremony.

Governor-General presides over 92nd Executive Council Meeting

The Governor-General presided today over her 92nd Executive Council Meeting. Pictured here at today's meeting is the Governor-General, the Hon. Tanya Plibersek MP, Minister for Health, and Senator the Hon. Jacinta Collins, Parliamentary Secretary for School Education and Workplace Relations.

Also present are Mr Stephen Brady CVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General, and Ms Pip Spence, Secretary of the Federal Executive Council.
