On Friday 26 June 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Right Honourable Sir Zelman Cowen AK GCMG GCVO QC, 19th Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Lady Anna Cowen, who remained for lunch.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a ceremony at which Sir Zelman Cowen officially opened the Zelman Cowen Room. In the evening, at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended Daniel Harding Conducts.

Afterwards, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Spain, Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sof?¥a. Later, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the King and Queen of Spain. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a State Dinner in honour of the King and Queen of Spain.

On Tuesday 23 June 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Mr Noel Campbell.

On Monday 22 June 2009, at Parliament House, Brisbane, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the Second Chance Program breakfast for homeless women.

In the evening, the Governor-General hosted a reception for participants of the National General Assembly of Local Government.

On Saturday 20 June 2009, at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director, Mr Tony Ellwood, viewed the American Impressionism and Realism exhibition.

In the evening, at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Governor-General attended the opening of the Paris Opera Ballet.

On Friday 19 June 2009, at the Westin Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of honour of Australia for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, attended a breakfast in recognition of World Refugee Day.

Later, at the District Court of Queensland, Brisbane, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the reconstituted District Court of Queensland, at which the Governor-General launched the history of the District Court of Queensland A Court Apart.

Later, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted an afternoon tea in recognition of Refugee Week. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Founder and Patron of Mahboba's Promise Organisation, Ms Mahboba Rawi, and the Chairman of the Management Committee, Mr Don Gough.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of the Republic of Botswana, the Honourable Mr Phandu T.C. Skelemani. The Minister was accompanied by: the High Commissioner for the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Mr Molosiwa Selepeng; Director Asia Department for the Republic of Botswana, Ambassador Zibani Ntakhwana; Private Secretary to the Minister, Mr Charles Masole; and Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ambassador George Sasara.

On Tuesday 16 June 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received a farewell call by the High Commissioner for the Independent State of Samoa, His Excellency Leiataua Dr Kilifoti Eteuati.
