On Friday 8 May 2009 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the President of the India Australia Association of Canberra, Ms Madhu Kalia. In the evening, the Governor-General hosted a reception for the 2009 Australian Tidy Towns national finalists. Earlier, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Vice Chancellor of the University of Canberra, Professor Stephen Parker. Afterwards, at Red Cross House, Garran, Mr Bryce attended a reception in support of the Australian Red Cross and Red Crescent.
