On Thursday 22 February 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received from His Excellency Mr Pang Song Hae, Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by: Mr Pak Myong Guk (Counsellor); Mr Jin Song Ho (Third Secretary); and Mrs Hwang Mi Suk (Attache), Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery also received Dr Kim Son Hwa.

On Wednesday 21 February 2007, at the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Emergency Response Centre.

On Tuesday 20 February 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received a farewell call from Her Excellency Madame Fu Ying, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China.

Earlier, Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as President of Guides Australia, hosted a reception and presented The Queen's Guide Award to ACT recipients.

On Saturday 17 February 2007 in the Bravery Garden, Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a Service of Remembrance for the Australian Bravery Association at which the Governor-General delivered an address and together with Mrs Jeffery laid flowers.

On Thursday 15 February 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Later, at Fairbairn ACT, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Canberra of the President of the Republic of Finland, Her Excellency Ms Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Araj?rvi by Mr Malcolm Hazell CVO, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

On Wednesday 14 February 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Australian High Commissioner-designate in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Jeff Hart.

On Tuesday 13 February 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Special Operations Commander, Major General Mike Hindmarsh AM CSC, Professor of Communications and Media Studies, Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Arts, University of Southern Queensland, Dr Bruce Horsfield, and former Special Operations Commander, Brigadier Jim Wallace AM (Retd).

On Monday 12 February 2007 at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Ludwig Scotty MP by Commander Forbes Peters RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Saturday 10 February 2007, the grounds of Government House, Canberra, were open to members of the public for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra 2007 Annual Prom Concert. Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the concert as guests of the Chair of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Mr Tony Hedley.

On Friday 9 February 2007, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Ludwig Scotty MP, by Colonel Chris Hamilton, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
