On Saturday 17 November 2018, at Cairns International Airport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the arrival to Australia of His Majesty Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei, by Commander David Hannah ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Paris, France; Queant, France; Bullecourt; France

On Monday 12 November 2018, in Paris, France, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency Mr Brain Pontifex, Australian Ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, met with staff at the Australian Embassy.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an Investiture Ceremony and reception for Mr Bernard Bories AM, and Mr Stephane Jacob-Langevin AM, at the Embassy of Australia.

Paris, France

On Sunday 11 November 2018, in Paris, France, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, received His Excellency Mr Brendan Berne, Ambassador to the French Republic.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, attended a Centenary of the Armistice Ceremony, at the Arc de Triomphe, Paris.

London, United Kingdom; Cardiff, United Kingdom

On Saturday 10 November 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency the Honourable George Brandis QC, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, attended a wreath laying ceremony, at the Australian War Memorial, Hyde Park, London.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a lunch, as guests of Mr Dennis Gethin, President, Welsh Rugby Union, at Principality Stadium, Cardiff.

London, United Kingdom

On Friday 9 November 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended an audience with Her Majesty The Queen, at Windsor Castle.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency the Honourable George Brandis QC, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, attended an afternoon tea at Australia House, London.

Kabul, Afghanistan; Qargha, Afghanistan

On Wednesday 7 November, at Headquarters Resolute Support, Kabul, the Governor General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with Australian Defence Force personnel embedded at the NATO Headquarters, as guest of Rear Admiral Jaimie Hatcher AM RAN, Commander JTF633.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with Australian Defence Force mentor training members of the Afghan National Army at Camp Qargha, as guest of Brigadier Jane Spalding, Commander Australian Task Group Afghanistan.

Taji, Iraq; Baghdad, Iraq; Kabul, Afghanistan

On Tuesday 6 November 2018, at Taji Military Complex, Iraq, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with the officers and soldiers of Task Group Taji-7, as guest of Colonel Michael Say, Commanding Officer. The Governor-General viewed the racing of the Melbourne Cup with the Task Group and presented a replica trophy donated by the Victorian Racing Club.

Canberra, ACT

On Friday 2 November 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier the Governor-General met with students from St Mary’s College, SA; Richmond Christian College, NSW; Rosebury Primary School, NT, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

Canberra, ACT; Sydney, NSW

On Thursday 1 November 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Gedimianas Varvuoli as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania. The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Ms Rasa Varvuoliene.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea reception for Legacy Widows.
