On Wednesday 29 June 2016, at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the High Commissioner for Canada, His Excellency Mr Paul Maddison, attended the Canada Day reception to mark Canada's 149th birthday.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chairman of the Wise Foundation, Mr Graeme Wise, and Mr Robert Wise and Mr Mark Campbell of Be Collective.

On Sunday 26 June 2016, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive of Opera Australia, Mr Craig Hassall AM, attended Opera Australia's 60th Anniversary Gala Concert.

Afterwards, at the Ivy Ballroom, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Opera Australia's 60th Anniversary Gala Fundraising Dinner.

On Saturday 25 June 2016, at Allianz Stadium, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of Australian Rugby Union, and Lady Cosgrove attended the Australia versus England 2016 Rugby Series Third Test, at which the Governor-General presented the Cook Cup trophy to the England team.

On Friday 24 June 2016, at The King’s School, North Parramatta, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Reviewing Officer, and Lady Cosgrove attended The King's School Cadet Corps' Sesquicentenary and Passing Out Parade.

On Thursday 23 June 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a special meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the evening, at Questacon, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Chief Executive Officer of the St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia, Dr John Falzon, participated in the ‘2016 Vinnies CEO Sleepout’.

On Wednesday 22 June 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Jingye Cheng, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Wei Cai (Minister), Sr Col Jingguo Wang (Defence Attaché) and Mr Rengang Huang (Minister-Counsellor). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Fang Wang.

On Tuesday 21 June 2016, at the South Australia Police Headquarters, Adelaide, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commissioner South Australia Police, Commissioner Grant Stevens APM, met with the Band of the South Australia Police.

Afterwards, at ‘Oakfield Lodge’, Mount Barker, the Governor-General, as guest speaker, and Lady Cosgrove officially opened Southern Cross Care’s new aged care facility and met with residents, staff and volunteers.

On Monday 20 June 2016, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest speaker, and Lady Cosgrove opened the Australian Local Government Association’s National General Assembly.

Afterwards, at the Wayville site, Adelaide, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove visited the Mental Illness Fellowship of South Australia and met with staff and volunteers.

On Friday 17 June 2016, at the Old Treasury Building, Melbourne, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron-in-Chief of the Australian Olympic Committee, and Lady Cosgrove attended an Olympic gold medal presentation ceremony for Mr Jared Tallent OAM.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Mr Tallent with the insignia of the Medal of the Order of Australia.
