Day One of the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Test Match – Australia versus India

On Tuesday 6 January 2015, at the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground, Moore Park, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust, Mr Anthony Shepherd AO, attended Day One of the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Test Match between Australia and India.

La Bohème Opening Night

On Saturday 3 January 2015, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive of Opera Australia, Mr Craig Hassall, attended the opening night of La Bohème.

New Year’s Eve barbecue

On Wednesday 31 December 2014, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a New Year’s Eve barbecue for students participating in the Beacon Foundation program at Holroyd High School.

Federal Executive Council; Swearing-in of newly appointed Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries; Memorial Service for Ms Katrina Dawson

On Tuesday 23 December 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council and signed the instruments re-naming Departments of State. Then, the Governor-General signed instruments of appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

St James’ Christmas Service

On Sunday 21 December 2014, at St James’ Anglican Church, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended the St James’ Christmas Service, at which the Governor-General read the Ninth Lesson, ‘St John unfolds the great mystery of the Incarnation’.
