2014 Clare Show; Bledisloe Cup

On Saturday 18 October 2014, at Clare, South Australia, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Clare Agricultural and Horticultural Show Society, Mr David Bond, attended the 2014 Clare Show at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address in recognition of the show’s 150th anniversary.

Afterwards, at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Australian Rugby Union, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 3rd Bledisloe Cup.

At the Clare Showground, Clare, SA, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Clare Agricultural and Horticultural Show Society, Mr David Bond, attended the 150th Clare Show, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address and launched the "Clare Show, A Fine All Round Display" history book.

Federal Executive Council; ‘Stone Pine’ tree planting

On Thursday 16 October 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the Royal Canberra Golf Club, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as honorary members and guests of the President, Mr Marc Howell, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General planted a commemorative ‘Stone Pine’ tree.

On Wednesday 15 October 2014, at Mount Druitt, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Foundation Chair in Primary Health Care, University of Western Sydney, Professor John MacDonald, met with volunteers, service providers and Indigenous clients at ‘The Shed’.

Launch of National Carers Week; Lunch at the Liverpool Community Kitchen and Hub; Foodbank Distribution Centre; Launch of Anglicare’s ‘State of the Family Report’; Visit to Gallipoli Mosque

On Tuesday 14 October 2014, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Rocks, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of Carers Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, launched National Carers Week and met with carers and staff.

Afterwards, at the Liverpool Community Kitchen and Hub, Liverpool, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairperson, Mr Mike Meyer, assisted with the lunch service and met with staff, volunteers and clients.
