Governor-General's Investiture; Departure of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh from Canberra; Credentials; State Dinner in Honour of the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

On Wednesday 26 October 2011, at Government House, Canberra, Her Majesty The Queen was pleased to confer the honour of Commander of the Royal Victorian Order on the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC.

Reception for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award; Cranleigh Capital Chemist Art Show; Malkara School

On Friday 21 October 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a reception to launch the 50th Anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia, in the presence of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

Afterwards, at Cranleigh School, Holt, the Governor-General attended the Cranleigh Capital Chemist Art Show, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Audience with Her Majesty The Queen; Tree-planting Ceremony; "Unseen Dupain" Exhibition

On Thursday 20 October 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC was received by Her Majesty The Queen.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a farewell call by the Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Mr Tom Pauling AO QC.

Later, the Governor-General received the Founder and Director of Asha, Dr Kiran Martin.

Then, the Governor-General attended a ceremony at which Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh planted trees in the grounds of Government House to mark their Royal visit.

Call by Women's Plan Foundation members; Reception for Children's Medical Research Institute

On Monday 17 October 2011, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, received from Women’s Plan Foundation, the Chair, Ms Alice Oppen OAM; Secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Lloyd AM; Treasurer, Mrs Helen Sheffer; and Trustees, Dr Ellie Freedman and Dr Zeny Edwards.

Later, the Governor-General received Mrs Margaret Whitlam AO and Ms Catherine Dovey.

In the evening, the Governor General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
