On Saturday 7 November 2009, in Benowa, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC delivered the closing address at Playgroup Australia's Inaugural National Playgroup Conference.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Colonel David O'Hagan RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Friday 6 November 2009, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC delivered an address at the 24th Australian Dental Convention.

On Thursday 5 November 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for the Canberra Ex-Service Women's Association.

On Wednesday 4 November 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a dinner for the Australian Bravery Decorations Council. Guests included: Major General Peter Arnison AC CVO (Retd); Ms Fiona Birkett MVO; Mr William Denny AM; Dr Penelope Flett; Mr Anthony Graham and Mrs Jane Graham; Mrs Cheryl Harris MVO; Mr John Johnson AO APM QPM and Mrs Patricia Johnson; Mr Shaun O'Sullivan; Professor Valerie Pratt AM; Ms Sue Renkin; Mr Peter Rush and Mrs Rebecca Rush; Mr Peter Sharp and Ms Lesley Fisk; and Mr Patrick Vidgen.

On Tuesday 3 November 2009, at Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, Victoria, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chairman and Committee of the Victoria Racing Club, attended the 2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup Carnival, at which the Governor-General presented the Emirates Melbourne Cup to the winning owner.

On Monday 2 November, at the Western Australia Police Chapel, Joondalup, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony, at which the Governor-General, as Senior Patron of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia, presented the Clarke Medal to Ms Joanna Lucas.

On Saturday 31 October 2009, at Government House, Perth, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron, attended the 2009 Australian Women of the Year Association lunch.

On Friday 30 October 2009, in Gnowangerup, Western Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, accompanied by Contact Incorporated Co-ordinator, Ms Sue Kingwill, visited the Gnowangerup Family Support Association at the Infant Health Centre in recognition of Children's Week.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Jeremy Newman. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, His Excellency Mr Georgi Parvanov and Mrs Zorka Parvanova. In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a State Lunch in honour of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
