On Wednesday 5 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, received a farewell call by the Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Pang Song Hae.

Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the transit through Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP by Commander Piers S.N.S. Chatterton RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Tuesday 4 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Patron of Future Directions International, hosted to luncheon: Mr Kerry Collison; Mr Gregory Copley AM; Mr Allan Gyngell; Mr David Hawes; Mr Steve Howard; Dr Mark Hulett; Mr Craig Lawrence AM; Mr Jim Nockels; Mr Tony Nolan OAM; Mr Andrew Pickford; Brigadier Chris Roberts; AM CSC (Retd); and Brigadier Jim Wallace AM (Retd).

On Monday 3 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery received the Prime Minister-designate, Mr Kevin Rudd MP and Ms Therese Rein. The Governor-General administered the Oath of Office as Prime Minister of Australia and the Executive Councillor's Oath to Mr Rudd and the Executive Councillor's Affirmation to Ms Julia Gillard.

On Saturday 1 December 2007, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP, by Commander Ted Wynberg RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

On Friday 30 November 2007, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery received the Prime Minister of Australia, the Honourable John Howard MP, and Mrs Janette Howard.

On Thursday 29 November 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Chairman, Memorial(s) Development Committee, Lieutenant Colonel Mike Buick CSM (Retd) accompanied by Rear Admiral Simon Harrington AM RAN (Retd).

On Wednesday 28 November 2007, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a morning tea for the General Sir John Monash Foundation at which the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief of the Foundation, presented the 2008 Awards.

On Tuesday 27 November 2007, at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Patron of BBM Ltd (formerly Big Brother Movement) and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a reception for sponsors and supporters.

On Monday 26 November 2007, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, invited the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Kevin Rudd MP, to form a Government and requested Mr Howard and his Ministers to remain in Government in caretaker capacity until a new Government is sworn in.

On Saturday 24 November 2007, at Bowral Golf Club, Bowral NSW, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of honour, attended the 2007 Legacy and Services Golf Day.

Afterwards, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of the Fiji Islands, His??Excellency Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda CF KStJ MBE MSD JP, by Brigadier Bruce Cook, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
