On Thursday 14 May 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Coach of the Westfield Matildas, Mr Alen Stajcic.

Later, the Governor-General received the Australian Ambassador-designate to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Paris, Mr Brian Ponitfex.

On Wednesday 13 May 2015, at Government House, Yarralumla, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received from His Excellency Mr Joel Sibusiso Ndebele, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for South Africa. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Ray Sithole (Counsellor), Mr Mandla Nkabeni (Third Secretary) and Ms Salamina Ngwenya (Third Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Zama Ndebele.

Visit to Cairns

On Tuesday 12 May 2015, at TAFE North Cairns Campus, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, visited the Defence Indigenous Development Program and met with staff and Indigenous Recruits.

Afterwards, at HMAS Cairns, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, received an operations brief and base overview from the Commanding Officer, Commander Carl Capper RAN.

Visit to HMAS Cairns and HMAS Childers

At HMAS Cairns, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, received an operational brief and base overview from the Commanding Officer, Commander Carl Capper RAN.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, visited HMAS Childers and received an operational brief from the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Commander Malcolm Strachan RAN, and met with the crew.

Radio 1RPH morning tea; Visit to Cairns

On Monday 11 May 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a morning tea on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of Radio 1RPH.

Afterwards, in Cairns, Queensland, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Bruce Glanville, opened the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park's extended buildings.
